The situation

Where they started

A psychology practice whose website is, very often, the first step someone takes on a genuinely difficult day.

The challenge

What it was costing them

This is a website with an unusually heavy job. Someone arriving is frequently anxious, possibly reaching out for the first time, and looking for reasons to put it off. Every unanswered question — who will I see, what does it cost, what actually happens — is an excuse to close the tab.

The approach

How we worked through it

1
Discover

Answer the anxious questions first

We ordered the entire site around the questions people are too uncomfortable to ring up and ask, and put them where they'd be found without hunting.

2
Design

Calm, human, unhurried

A warm identity and a deliberately quiet layout — nothing that pressures, nothing that shouts. The tone does as much work here as the words.

3
Build

Accessible as a starting point

Built to accessibility standards from the outset rather than retrofitted — readable contrast, keyboard navigation, sensible structure. For this audience that isn't a compliance checkbox, it's the whole point.

The result

What changed

A practice that feels as approachable online as it does in the therapy room — which, for someone deciding whether to make contact at all, is the whole difference.

The relationship carries on

Ongoing care, with content added as the practice grows its specialisms.
